Sandblasted signs are an especially attractive form of signage! Typically made of either natural redwood or HDU (high - density urethane foam), sandblasted signs are great for retail storefronts, doctor’s offices, real estate offices or those desiring a warm and traditional look. There is almost no limit to sizes, colors and shapes of these signs as they can be fashioned into both single-sided or double-sided signs. The process is simple. Redwood sections are laminated together and the design is “blasted” onto the face of the plank. This exposes a natural wood grain background with a rough texture, highlighting your “raised” sign information. The blasted wood plank is then painted in your choice of colors and given a protective clear coat. High density foam is also “blasted” and painted, but the background does not have the wood ridges, rather, a pebbly-type background.  HDU material has a natural resistance to insects, and has become a popular alternative to redwood.

HDU - High Density Urethane foam: waterproof, insect and chemical resistant, non-warping, non-splitting and non-cracking.
