The Ultimate in Storefront Signage, Illuminated Channel Letters Outshine the Competition
Highly Effective Day or Night, Channel Letters Are the Number One Choice for Retail Centers in Orange County
If you've ever driven past a strip mall at night, then you're probably familiar with the effectiveness of illuminated channel letter signs, the most common type of illuminated letters. Three of the most popular types of illuminated channel letters are standard, reverse and open. They can be mounted individually to the building, or on a raceway, and the internal lighting can be traditional neon tubing or energy saving L.E.D. Channel letters can also be made without lighting, referred to as non-lit channel letters.
Standard Front Lit Channel Letters have colored acrylic faces illuminated by internal neon tubing, housed in an aluminum letter or frame. Aluminum construction is the preferred fabrication material, because of its rust free qualities and general durability.
Reverse Halo Lit Channel Letters are often called Halo-lit letters as the lighting comes from behind the letters. The entire letter is made of solid aluminum construction and the back is left open, thereby exposing the light source. The letters are offset mounted, usually 2" away from the wall surface such that the neon lighting is allowed to shine through the back with a halo effect on the wall surface. By day, the signage can easily be seen and by night, the signage comes to life.
Open Face Lit Channel Letters aren't really open at all. These signs are manufactured much like the standard channel letter, but utilize clear acrylic faces to expose the raw neon of the sign. At night you can actually see the neon tubing (light source) inset within the aluminum letter, a very interesting alternative to regular channel letters.
Back Lit Channel Letters are illuminated through both the front face and also out of the back of the letter at the same time. Thus at night, you can see both a crisp lit face, as well as, a soft “halo” from behind each letter.
